Rotary Pudding Campaign 2017

Our current project came to its conclusion when President Phil presented a cheque for £11,000.00 to Carrie & Leah from Meningitis Now. Many thanks to all of YOU, our hard working supporters. It goes without saying that this project would not survive, never mind flourish without your support.

Next years project is just getting off the ground. Our support will be for Prostate. This involves us with the three separate charities in Wales, Scotland & England. They have come together with Cwmbran Vale so that we have UK wide resources to call upon.

Unlike previous years when our website was only available during the pudding selling season, it’s going to remain open all year for updates. Please visit, AND join our Facebook page, that will give us another avenue of contact for information and updates.

Our main problem this coming year will again be getting the details out to the Rotary clubs that would support us if only they new we existed. Over the last year on various travels I have met Rotarians up and down the country, who when they hear of the project express a desire to join our supporters. Because of data protection within Rotary it is getting more and more difficult each year to get the message out. Can I therefore plead, that this year as well as supporting our pudding sales, help us to get the message out to all those clubs who have never heard of the Pudding Project. If you have a mailing list of your local clubs, or clubs you deal with regularly please be sure to share this message.

Rotary Pudding Campaign 2015

On the 22nd of March, at the Stroke Association’s Welsh Headquarters in Cardiff, Cwmbran Vale’s Rotary Club president, Bryn Peterson, presented a cheque for £10,000 to Ana Palazon, the association’s Director for Wales who stated, ‘The Stroke Association are thrilled to receive this donation and thank the Rotary club of Cwmbran Vale for their generous support. This is a fantastic example of the ongoing friendship and support of Rotarians, given to the Stroke Association, throughout the UK.” The money was raised by the club through the Xmas Pudding Appeal, 2015. This is the second year that the Association has benefited, having received £14,000 from the 2014 Appeal.

The money was raised by the club selling puddings to other Rotarians and through the Association’s club activities across the UK. The Appeal was also supported by Cwmbran based Mon Motors Group. The regional automotive dealer added a pudding to every one of their Christmas hampers that they gift all their 650+ employees each year.

President Bryn said during the presentation, “We are pleased to support the good work that your organisation does in our communities across the UK, supporting people who have been affected by Stroke, something which not only affects the individual but also their whole family in so many ways”.

Rotary Pudding Campaign 2014

Cwmbran Vale’s Pudding Appeal for Xmas 2014 was, yet again very successful, Raising £14,000 for our chosen charity, the UK Stroke Association.

Chairman John Ellis, whilst presenting the cheque to the Association at their Bromsgrove Headquarters to their regional fundraising team in February this year, stated “This year, once again, our rotary club with the support of Rotary clubs across the UK, sales to local businesses in the Cwmbran area and through the Stroke Association itself, have been successful in raising £14,000, which, we are pleased to donate to you today.”

“Also, it has been agreed that money raised during the Xmas 2015 Pudding Appeal, will also go to your Association, as we recognise what a real difference this organisation makes to those affected by a stroke within communities across the UK”

To those clubs who supported us again this year we give our sincere thanks. For those of you who have previously supported us but were not able to join our “Pudding Club” this year we hope we can regain your support for 2015. Those of you who have never been involved in this project we ask that you consider it for this year, there are many ways clubs use the project to either raise funds for themselves, support vulnerable people with a gift of a pudding, or for business to generate goodwill to both staff and customers with a personalised Xmas Pudding gift.

Contact us via the website if you need any help and either Phil Evans, John Ellis or Chris Stacey from our club, will contact you directly to discuss various options.

Thanks must also go to Berni at The Ultimate Food Company who supplies our puddings, the team there came up with a late supply of puddings, when demand outstripped supply, close to Xmas last year.

Rotary Pudding Campaign 2013

Cwmbran Vale’s Xmas Pudding Appeal for 2013 was yet another success, raising over £15,000 for the Club’s chosen charity, the Alzheimer’s Society.

Chairman Keith Davies states “Once again members of our club, together with the support of Rotary clubs across the UK, have shown their support for our Pudding, fund raising project. We hope our donation will make a real difference to the work of the Alzheimer’s Society”.

John Ellis who led the project with Chris Stacey considers the Puddings Project as one of the key fundraising activities of the club, “As incoming President for 2014/15 I am keen that the 2014 Xmas project continues to grow with the continuing support of both local business and our UK Rotary colleagues. Money raised from this year’s project will be donated to the Stroke Association UK, yet another charity organisation making a real difference in the community.”

To those clubs who supported us again this year we give our sincere thanks. For those of you who have previously supported us but were not able to join the “Pudding Club” this year we hope we can regain your support for 2014. Those of you who have never been involved in this project we ask that you consider it for this year, there are many ways clubs use the project to either raise funds for themselves, support vulnerable people with the gift of a pudding, or for business to generate goodwill to both staff and customers with a personalised Xmas Pudding gift.

Rotary Pudding Campaign 2012

Once again our Christmas Pudding appeal has been a resounding success. This year we have been supporting The Alzheimer’s Society and are delighted to announce that we have raised an even bigger sum and that a cheque for £17,000 was presented by club President Chris Stacey to Sue Phelps, Director and Aimee Hopkins, Local Fund Raiser at a recent club meeting.

Members of the Club were also please to meet The Rt Honorable Carwyn Jones, First Minister for Wales at a recent Alzheimer’s project launch at the Senedd in Cardiff where the clubs efforts were acknowledged.

Once again the donation has been made possible with the support of a very limited number of clubs. To those clubs that have supported us again this year we give our sincere thanks. For those of you who have previously supported us but were not able to join the ‘Pudding Club’ this year we hope that we can regain your support for 2013. For those of you who have never been involved in this please drop us an email and we’ll send you some information.

Thanks again to Alasdair Marshall and the team at Avana who have helped us tremendously, and have always ‘come up with the goods’ when demand outstripped supply.

The donation has been made possible with the support of just 81 clubs. To those clubs that have supported us again this year we give our sincere thanks.
